I know I'm obsessed with Twilight, but...

Wonderful Husband!

Phil surprised me on Saturday with two tickets to the Sarah Brightman concert in December! We've been to her concert before about 3 years ago and it was amazing! It's the only concert Phil has ever been to. I'm so excited to see her again.

Everyday is Father's Day!

Mother's Day tends to be a different day because it is the day where mom's get to take a break from their normal household duties and delegate them all the the husband. It's a wonderful relaxing day (in theory, when the kids are older probably) where you can read, take a nap, enjoy a meal not cooked by you (in my case this doesn't happen unless I want scrambled eggs or Mac&Cheese), etc. Father's Day is one of those great days where it doesn't seem all that different. Today I found myself doing what I normally do, except not asking Phil to do anything, except take out the trash (I'm sorry there are just some things set in stone which the mom won't do). Other than that, not very much was different. He got to take a leisurely nap (which happens during the week sometimes), he got a nice homecooked meal, he played with the kids and had a clean house. So to sum it up, I think that we need a lot more mother's days (once a month, eh ladies?) because it seems as though everyday is Father's Day! :) With all joking aside, thanks to Phil for being a great husband, father and provider for our family. This weekend, Phil's mom and sister Melanie came into town and we went out to eat at the Grand Sierra Resort Lodge buffet. Being residents, we get an awesome discount so that it's only $7.77 per person as opposed to $18.00. The food is fabulous (prime rib, turkey, pork, pasta, etc). Gardening

As some of you may know, we planted a garden last weekend. My friend Amanda has a nice big backyard with planter boxes and I asked her if she gardened. She said she didn't and would love to, so we joined with another couple, Kaijsa and Nate, and planted a vegetable garden in her backyard. We're going to do the weeding and fertilizing etc. and my friend Amanda is doing the watering. I think that it will be great, especially if we get some produce out of the deal. On the top we have 4 cucumber plants, middle: 7 tomato plants, bottom: 6 green peppers, 6 red peppers, bush beans, 1 jalepeno pepper plant. In the big box is cantalope. In the box by the rose bushes, we planted a watermelon plant just for fun.In this box we have pole beans, 2 summer sqash and 3 zuchinni (yum yum)

Memorial Day Weekend

On Monday, the weather looked really grim (cloudy and rainy), but we decided to venture out of the house anyways since it was a holiday. We went up to Virginia City to see the sights with our friends Khyl and Danielle. Danielle grew up near Virginia City and even worked at this place called Grandma's Fudge while she was in high school. Virginia City is an old mining town and I guess really boomed during the Gold Rush times. There are lots of cool shops and museums. We rode the train, which Kaylin and Zachary both loved! We also took a picnic and ate in the freezing weather and light showers. After walking around and sightseeing, we went shopping and out to dinner. It was a really fun day!
