We're expecting...

...Baby Walker #3! I'm due on October 5th. We're very excited, especially Kaylin. She is always telling us that she's going to have a baby sister. I don't really have the heart to tell her that it'll probably be a boy because of the way this pregnancy is going. I think that she'll be happy either way. She's a great big sister.

I'm starting to feel a little better. These last 6 weeks have been awful. I think Phil was about ready to ship me off somewhere until I got better. Let's just say the house was trashed and the only thing that got done was the kids were fed and sometimes changed out of their jammies. Oh well. Things are getting better to where I can actually stomach doing dishes again and have more energy. I still love taking naps with the kids in the afternoon and surprisingly still manage to go to bed by 9 PM! I know that all that will change once I have to pee every ten seconds, so I'm taking advantage of it now!

I'm super surprised that I was able to keep it a secret from most for a while. I guess when it's your third child, it's not as monumental as your first. I also wanted to keep it in because that way I would have less people to whine to about my constant nausea. But now my tummy is expanding and I have to let people know so they don't just think I'm packing on the pounds!

B's and Jammies

Zachary loves his "B"...the blue blanket that Donann Remund made for him. If he could, he would carry it around everywhere. Luckily we don't take it out of the house and for the most part it stays in his crib. He loves to be wrapped up in it for bed. He also loves to walk around with it over his head and pretend he's a ghost. When we were in Utah, I found him asleep with his blanket completely over his face. I freaked out at first, but then realized that there are holes in the blanket and he was still breathing. He must like it dark while he sleeps! He also loves his stuffed animals. Kaylin was never into stuffed animals, but Zachary just loves them. He usually goes to bed hugging his dog or his bear. He loves to have them lined up next to him. He's a silly guy, but so cute!
So, the pink pillowcase is in his crib because until I cleaned out the linen closet (done Saturday), I couldn't find a different color. Poor guy.
Ok, these jammies were on sale at Old Navy and I had a coupon so I got them for $3.15 each! Original price $14.99. So I bought like 7 pair in 4 different sizes. Nice.

Lake Tahoe trip

Last weekend we went with our friends, the Halberts, to Lake Tahoe. We stayed in a really nice condo by a couple of ski resorts (no we didn't ski) and just hung out all weekend. We watched some movies, made lots of food and played some games. We also got a chance to play in the snow. Here are some pictures...

The In-laws come to town

Phil and I always love to have visitors and a few weeks ago, Phil's family came to visit for the weekend. It was so nice to have them here. Kaylin and Zachary just adore their grandma and grandpa and their aunt Mel and uncle Dave. I do feel bad though, because it snowed on the way home and they got stuck over the pass into CA. What is usually a two hour drive, took 7 hours. Ouch. Thanks you guys for making the sacrifice though. It was fun!

Are you a name-brand snob?

The other day I was at the grocery store and I was thinking about all the stuff that I just can't buy generic. Is anyone else like this too? Here are some of my must-have name brand products- no substitutes:
  • Cheerios, Rice Krispies, and Corn Chex. Generic is just gross.
  • Tillamook or Bandon Medium Cheddar Cheese. The other day we bought the costco brand and it was nasty.
  • Yoplait or Tillamook yogurt
  • C & H brown sugar
  • Tampax tampons
  • Colgate Total toothpaste. Phil used to be a Crest man, but I showed him the light.

What are your name brand products?

Kaylin's First Swimming Lessons

Kaylin went to her much awaited swimming lessons on Monday. She LOVED it. Right when we got out of the car, she asked if she could swim with her friends. It was cute. The teachers made the class really fun with toys and singing. Kaylin did great putting her face in the water and blowing bubbles. Phil and I were very proud parents. I told Phil that there was no place I would have rather been than at that pool. It was so exciting to see Kaylin enjoying her class. Every once in a while, she'd look at me to make sure I was watching and a couple of times she'd wave or blow me kisses. It was precious. Here are some pictures...

Kaylin turns 4

I can't believe my little girl is 4. It's seems like just yesterday she was two. Her birthday was on Monday and unfortunately because we got back on Sunday night, I didn't really have a chance to do anything big. She did get swimming lessons and a new swimsuit for her birthday that she is THRILLED about. She also got $10 from her Great-Grandma and Grandpa Hill so we took her to Wal-Mart and let her spend it. She bought gummy worms, a Barbie DVD and a ride on a little car they had out front and a handful of candy out of the $.25 dispenser. I think that we'll have to make this a tradition. She loved picking out her own things and paying for it herself.
Thanks to all for the phone calls. Kaylin was genuinly excited to hear Happy Birthday over and over again. Warning though, call early in the day or else she might be "too tired" to take your phone call. It was funny because that was her excuse for two callers.

Another trip to Utah

It seems like the only trips we take are to go visit family in Utah. This trip was no exception. My girlfriend needed a driving buddy so I hopped on board and we drove with our kids to Utah.

Highlights:
Staying with Heather and Jay and seeing cute baby Lauren
Spending the day with Grandma and Shaunie
Spending the day with Kristin
Going to Rodizio Grill and Cafe Rio (yum)
Going to see "Phantom" at the Hale theater (not the Andrew Lloyd Webber one) with Heather
Celebrating Lauren's first birthday
Seeing Janessa and Jordan with their baby girl Claire for the first time

This was one of the princess at the Saftey Convention we went to. That's where Kaylin and Zachary got their faces painted.
