18 days and counting...

So I've got 18 days left until my due date. I went to the doctor's yesterday and it was funny because the nurse was asking me if I was miserable or just couldn't wait to get this baby out. The truth is, I'm super content. I think this has been the easiest "end of pregnancy" I've ever had. Don't get me wrong, I'm super excited about meeting my little son, but I also know all the pain and hard work and lack of sleep that follows the birth. So for right now, I'm just content waiting. Maybe today I'll actually wash the car seat cover. I probably should have Phil build the crib again this weekend. I think I was all ready with bags packed about a month before Kaylin was born, and this time I don't even have a bag thought about! With Kaylin I prewashed all the baby clothes in Dreft and had everything organized and cleaned. With this little boy, all his clothes (or should I say Zachary's old clothes) have been washed in Costco detergent and put away. It's funny how different you act when it's your first compared to your third.

Anyways, I'll post a belly picture later. The doctor predicts that the baby will be 8 1/2 to 9 lbs when he's born, so I probably won't be going to my due date. Maybe the weekend before. We'll see.

Walker Kids Retreat 2009

Since we had so much fun last year in Reno with all the Walker kids, we've decided to make this an annual tradition! This year we all got together at Aaron and Melissa's house in Rancho Cordova, CA. It started on Saturday at the California State Fair and ended on Labor Day. Here are some pictures and highlights.
The Fair

The boat ride that cost $6 for both the kids to ride about 15 meters. This is why we don't go to Fairs!

The Retreat
At Aaron and Melissa's house, we ate alot and played plenty of games. The Walker kids love MarioKart so on Saturday night, they set up 3 TV's and 3 Wii's downstairs and had 8 people playing all at once. I watched! It was crazy. That night I think they played til 1 AM and the next night until 3 AM. Then on Monday they busted out Rock Band. We did manage to squeeze in Catch Phrase and Cranium in this videogame mayhem though. Needless to say, it was a lot of fun and "Party Phil" enjoyed himself immensly!
Aaron and Melissa's dogs had puppies about 5 days prior to this weekend. Kaylin LOVED holding the puppies. After the retreat, we stopped by Phil's grandparents house in Orangevale. It was tons of fun to see them and have the kids go swimming in the pool. Zachary held grandpa's hand as they explored their 2 acre property. Kaylin and Zachary both loved picking apples right off the tree and getting some fresh pears. They also loved seeing the cool fish pond and all the huge fish they have in it. It was a really fun visit.

Grape juice

We have been lucky to have grapes that I decided to make into grape juice. Here are my helpers...(well they helped for about 5 minutes and then mommy did it all!)

Lounging around

These last two weeks have been really calm and we've been lounging around alot. Here are some pictures...

Storytime with mommy before bedtime

We had Natalie (Kaijsa's daughter) over to spend the night when Kaijsa was feeling some contractions. She and Kaylin had matching jammies which was so cute!
