Welcome Zachary Grant Walker!

On Sunday morning, July 29th, I started to have contractions. I was supposed to be induced the previous Thursday, but there was no room in the hospital for me. I opted to wait until Monday to be induced, but Zachary decided to come on his own. I labored at home all day while my mom timed contractions. Phil went to his church meetings in the morning and then stayed home and read Harry Potter, while my mom and I watched Pride and Prejudice while waiting for the contractions to get regular. After laboring until 4:30 pm, they finally got regular enough to go to the hospital. By the time I got to the hospital, I was already dialated to a 6 and the contractions were getting more painful. After waiting for about an hour, the anastesiologist came. Long story short, my thighs went numb and that was it! Finally at he was born at 7:40 pm was 9 lbs. 11 oz (big baby!) and 21 1/2 inches long. My mom got to be in the delivery room seeing her first grandchild born which was so neat. The whole birth was a really emotional and painful experience, but in the end we are so thrilled to have our little boy.
