We're back online!

After one whole month in the black hole of no Internet or phone, we finally have connected to the outside world and gotten those much needed amenities. We are also enjoying our new apartment in Reno. I'll start from the beginning and recap the last month.

MOVING...

This is the front of our old home (we actually lived on the side of the house.) Moving was pretty hectic, but we managed to pack up everything the weekend before Christmas and move it all to our new apartment. Much to our surprise and relief, there were 5 or 6 brothers from the Elder's quorum to help with the unpacking. Phil, his dad and his brother Aaron were also there. I stayed home with the kids at my in-laws house.

Christmas 2007

We spent Christmas with the Walker family and had an absolute blast! We played lots of games with the kids and Dad and watching "A Christmas Story" about a billion times. It's a family tradition in the Walker household to watch that movie and I know that I'm speaking blasphemy here, but I hate that movie. Watching it one time was already too much, but watching it 5 times in one day is a little overkill. That's OK though because everyone has there own traditions. Christmas Eve, we drove around Yuba City and looked at all the Christmas lights. We decided to sing Christmas carols in the car and asked Kaylin what she wanted to sing. She started to sing, "Chicken Chicken coming home, Chicken chicken coming home....(repeated a bunch of times)" I don't know what song that was, but we all chimed in and that was our Christmas carol for the evening. It was really funny because every time I tried to sing something different, everyone would start singing the "Chicken song" again.

Christmas morning was very fun. We opened presents and the greatest shock was the present we got from my in-laws. My mother-in-law spent a year scanning in all of the family albums and she gave all the kids a flash drive with all their pictures on it and a digital picture frame. It was so sweet, we were all in tears over the labor of love that was put into this Christmas present. Here are some of the highlight pictures. I'm sporting my new p-jays in the pictures and Kaylin is loving her new Ariel and Belle barbies.
