Jared 2 weeks old

I can't believe it's been about 2 1/2 weeks since we welcomed Jared into the family. Here's a recap of what's been happening in the last 2 weeks:

Grandma Fofa (my mom) came to stay with us for a week. She came a week after Jared was born. We had a lot of fun together. We got some much needed organizing done, cooking, made homemade spaghetti sauce with our home grown tomatoes, organized my recipe book, went shopping, etc. Oh yeah, and we held the baby, and did all the grandma/mom bonding!

Phil's been taking really good care of me. He didn't hold the baby much while Grandma was around, so he's been holding him a lot this week. He's also been super husband with taking care of the kids and letting me sleep in on the weekends. He's been doing lots of dishes and cleaning around the house. I'm so grateful to him!

The kids have been loving their brother! Every time Zachary talks to Jared, it's in a very high pitched voice. He loves giving him "air kisses (he doesn't quite touch his head, just leans in a makes the puckering noise) and identifying the parts of the body; nose, head, fingers etc. Kaylin is a great brother holder! She loves to hold her brother and will sit for long periods of time holding him and touching his little face.

I've been recovering and doing really well. I still miss my 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep, but I'm surviving. I just love nursing and cuddling with my little boy. There is something very calming about holding a sleeping baby. I've been doing a lot of sitting and reading as a result! Three kids so far hasn't been too bad. I still try to make an effort to spend quality time with each of them during the day. I think that we're surviving, although we are looking forward to Aunt Emilee coming to visit this next week!
