Christmas Eve Jammie shots. I made Christmas jammies (actually I did everything but sew them, thank you Danielle and my mother-in-law) this year and I thought that they turned out great. Phil and I had matching pajama pants and the kids (minus Jared, sorry bud, ran out of time!) had matching jammies too.
For Christmas Eve, I made chicken cordon bleu, rice pilaf, green beans, homemade rolls, orange banana slush and passion fruit mousse. During dinner, Khyl and Danielle, along with her family came over and played some Christmas songs using their various wind instruments. It was great! After dinner, we opened our Christmas jammies and our ornaments and had a lesson about Jesus. During the whole month of December, we had a service jar that we had a goal to fill up. Anytime we did service for someone else, we put a marble in the jar. We got it filled about half way. I taught the kids (I'm not sure if they were listening or not) that we did a great job filling the jar half way and that we did a lot of service. Sometimes though, despite all of our efforts, we still fall short of our goals. That's where the Savior comes in. He can help us fill up the rest of the jar with His selfless act of service to us. So we filled the rest of the jar with all the things that Jesus has done to serve us. Magically it got filled to the top. It was a great little lesson and even though Zachary was wild child, I still felt the Spirit as I taught my children about Christ. It was wonderful to be together as a family for Christmas.
